Overview
In early-mid 2019 Gaia Resources were engaged by the State Records Office of Western Australia to create an index and build a web map of over 2,000 historical sewerage plans for the Perth Metropolitan area.
Due to each map containing large spaces of blank edges the idea was to use multiple spatial processes to compress, clip, and tile thousands of highly detailed maps into one usable product on the web.
Users are now able to interact with these maps here and have the ability to search for an address, zoom/pan into highly detailed levels, and click an area to download the full map (either as a JPEG or GeoTIFF).
